Tsunami Rose Designs Tri Shutter Card

Today I am sharing a card I made for Tsunami Rose Designs.
I made a Tri Shutter card.
I used two files from Tsunami Rose..
The first one is 12 x12 Scrapbook Paper #8
I love the colours in this digital paper.
which has 18 sentiments on it.
I just love digital paper as you can use it as much as you want.

When using Daisy's gorgeous papers I usually leave them
and they are lovely and vintage...
but today I had to add some sparkle.
I added Stickles to all the roses.
I also added some tiny sparkles to the embossing folder.

I also added a hand crocheted flower with bling by my friend Jordan.
The butterflies are dies..
I love the hanging pearl drops.

Box Card Tutorial - Pinque Peacock

Box Card Tutorial

Hi Everyone!
Today I am going to share a
tutorial for a box card I made for the blog hop last week

This month Pinque Peacock is all about
Stars and Stripes so I wanted to show you this one again.
For my tutorial I am making a box card for a baby shower.
I am still going to use some wonderful Pinque Peacock goodies.
(some of my favorites )

Step One

You cut your cardstock 6 x 11 1/2
Score lengthwise  at 3 1/4
Turn paper around and score at  2 3/4, 5 1/2, 8 1/4, and 11
So your paper will have a top side that is 2 3/4 and a bottom side that is 3 1/4
On the 2 3/4 side you will cut down to the score line.
The 1/2 piece you will cut right off.

I then picked all my patterned paper and cut it.
I usually cut all my patterned paper 1/8 inch smaller
than piece I want to put it on..
I did ink all the edges of every piece.

I decided to make a gift card holder for this box card.

I cut a piece of cardstock 2 5/8 x 8.
I folded in half then in half again on both side.
I punched a little circle on the top.

I then started to add patterned paper.
I wanted the yellow pins to be upright so I made
sure the box was sitting the way it would when done.

Here is the next step. I added two layers on the
bottoms layers of the card.

I usually put the box together then.. I put strong tape on the
outside of the 1/2 piece and adhered  it inside the box.

Here is my gift card holder.. I made sure I used
strong tape to add to the back top part of the card.

Here it is.. I actually added a little piece of
patterned paper to cover the card.
The paper slides in and out like the gift card.
This will hold up the back of the card.

Here I added two pieces in the middle of the card to add
anything... I am not sure yet what I am going to add
but likely some cute baby clothes I found.

These pieces are 3 1/2 inches wide.
I scored at 3/8 inch on both sides.
You can fold the side back or forth.

When I add these pieces I fold the card sideways
to make sure it will fold properly to send.

Here is my card with a lot of the goodies
I am going to use with it.
Do you see the wonderful Angel Pin....
.....made specially by Jessica!
I am going to add texture to the butterfly and add..
This is from my Crafty Kit Club kit.
The flowers are Petaloo and from the Pinque Peacock store.
The pink and orange pearls with the acrylic sliders are also
from my kit (Crafty Kit Club)

I will have a picture of the finished card
when it has been given .
I don't want to spoil a surprise.

Krafty Kit Club Canvas Pinque Peacock

Today I am showing off one of June's Crafty Kit Club kits.
I used Summer Brights as my project.
I will be using only part of the kit and
later in the month I will be doing a tutorial
using more kit goodies.

And you can also get KIT A which is Nautical....
Add on's

Aren't these wood veneer shapes amazing..

Today I am showcasing my project for the Krafty Kit Club for June.
This mixed media project was a new frontier for me..
I really haven't done a lot of mixed media..
I made my own texture paste but I haven't had much
success using it .. but I knew I want to make a frame from it.

I first rubbed yellow paint all over my canvas...
I modge podged the paper I got in the kit to my canvas.
Then I added the frame made from texture paste.

As soon as I made this frame I knew I wanted to add this pic of my Mom.
It's her colours and it suits this picture of her.
This is a very special picture as its one of the last ones
I have of my Mom... on a weekend when my sister Diane and I
and Mom went to Frankenmuth for the weekend together.

Hope you enjoyed my canvas frame!

I am entering this in
Craftin Desert Divas -my favorite colour linky party
as this frame  is some of my Mom's favorite colours.

Sin City Stamps - Faux Patina Step Card

For The Pinque Peacock Stars and Stripes Blog Hop scroll down one post....

I am making a card today for Sin City Stamps DT.
This is my application for the team.
Today I am making a Side Step card and using a stamping technique called Faux Patina.
Patina is basically tarnish produced by oxidation or other chemical processes.
I have never tried this before but when I saw it on You Tube (TooCoolStamping1)
I knew I had to make a card with this stamping technique.
Here is a picture with my supplies.

An embossing folder.
I chose to go with the traditional Patina look.. which I hear is aqua.
I used Tim Holtz Distress Inks - Vintage Photo for my dark ink
Pine Needles for my medium ink.
Broken China for my lightest ink.
In the video I watched Angie used four colours.
a light brown, blue, green and a dark brown.
(I didn't have a light enough colour but I think the one I used worked.)
I also have sponges to sponge the ink on... (well one distress tool and two finger daubers!)
Gold Embossing Powder... and Versamark Ink
Heat Tool
(I did use my big shot also but not in pic)

Faux Patina is so pretty but also fairly easy....

My first step is to ink the front of the embossing folder.
(the non raised side)

Add paper to it ... good side down (if you have a certain side you want
to be the front)

This is how the paper looks when you take it out of the embossing folder.
This already has a very cool look to it...

The next step is to start adding colour...
We are going to add the lightest colour which is the Broken China (blue)
I sponged on .. randomly...

As you can see you can still see the brown as you are mostly
sponging the blue on the raised areas.

Then I added the next colour which is the Pine Needles (green)
This colour is a little darker than the blue.

As you can see you can still see the brown (Vintage Photo) on the
non raised layer.

I then added Vintage Photo (brown)  to the whole piece making sure
I added extra to the raised areas.

You will want to let this dry a little..
I actually used my heat gun.

I just love this look without even adding the gold embossing powder.
I am sure I will be making some cards doing this.

The next step is to add the gold embossing powder.
I added versamark ink randomly over the image.
I mostly tried to hit the raised areas.
I then added gold embossing powder to the image.

As you can see I hit more than the raised areas
so I brushed off some of the embossing powder.

I then heated the image with my heat gun..

You can see in the picture some of the areas already turning...

The next image is the finish image .... faux patina.....

I absolutely love this technique!

I decide to make a side step card.

This card is so easy to make...5 1/2 by 11 paper
Cut at 2 3/4 from the 1inch mark to the 5 1/4 inch mark...
On one side score at 1inch, 2 inches ...
then fold the card in half... saves more scoring and your
card is folded in half perfectly...

Here is my finished card.
I made a wedding card.

all around the edges. I added pearl brads on the tags.
I also added lace on the card and diamond pearl trim.....
I also used a metal flowers from Miriam...
I made a middle for the flowes with some gems I had...
